This is "institutional narcissism," the inability to escape self-regard on the Corporat scale. The NRA's in decline, or this would happen there, too.They don't care how they appear to "us."
They really don't. Just as, if I'm honest, I don't really care how I appear to them.
What they care about is how they look to one another and the rest of the anointed.
What they're doing is performing cult rituals for the National Media. It's like a performance of a myth, the opacity of which to the outsider camouflages the clarity of thre believers.
They only care about "us" to the extent that they are "pwning," or "triggering" us.
The only thing now necessary is to brand CPAC a dome3stic terrorist organization.
